Comments: Arguably the best pony comic title of all time.

The Maytime Show

Comments: This was the first comic appearance of one of the Princess ponies. They just sort of TURNED UP with no official origin or explanation, although in one of the annuals its info-dropped that they used to live in the Dismal Desert with Prince High and Mighty.

Getting back to the story … I was sure this was going to be one of those “you only needed to believe in YOURSELF!” tales, but it turned out more like “make sure to have multiple sources of wishes at your disposal.” Life in Ponyland.

Do a good job, and I’ll … wait. Why are you an alicorn, Baby Firefly?

Comments: I know I always keep my shoes in vases.

The Ogre’s Circle

Comments: I love these fairy tale type stories!

Even though the text says Majesty threw the stone to the bird, it’s apparent from the illustrations that Majesty actually threw the bird itself. You can see the bird sitting on top of the pile of rocks with its head tucked down, pretending to be a stone.
